After graduating with her undergraduate degree in physics and historical costuming, she moved to Portland, where she was hired as the Technology Support Supervisor at the Art Institute of Portland.

While working at the Art Institute, Erin was able to attend graduate school at Portland State University, where she received her MBA. As part of her position at the Art Institute, Erin managed a large number of computer labs and lab technicians, and was eventually promoted to Director of Technology. This job encompassed facilities management, in addition to managing a large budget and negotiating with property management and construction companies in the buildout of a new facility for the college. It was here that Erin discovered that she loved the legal aspects of the job. After seven years at the Art Institute, Erin made the leap to law school and doesn’t regret it for a second.

Erin attended and graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, OR. During law school, she focused on real estate law and litigation. In addition, she interned at the Lewis & Clark Legal Clinic in downtown Portland, where she helped clients with landlord/tenant, bankruptcy, and property issues. She also interned at the Multnomah County District Attorney’s office, where she represented the state in arraignments, release hearings, pleas, trials, and other hearings.

Erin formed Fitzgerald Law in December 2008 to provide services to those people who need help navigating landlord/tenant laws, consumer laws, and criminal laws in Oregon. She practices primarily in the areas of family law, landlord/tenant law, consumer law, criminal defense, and general litigation. She is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and Oregon Women Lawyers. She is also an active member with the Multnomah Bar Association, serving on the Young Lawyer Section’s Service to the Public Committee.

Erin is licensed to practice in the State of Oregon and the United States District Court, District of Oregon.

In her spare time, Erin enjoys spending time with her family, singing, playing guitar, solving puzzles, and knitting.
